Coal Creek Staff and Students
Honoring Veteran's Day
As we prepare to head off for Winter Break, I want to provide you with information about what you can expect in January, as Boulder Valley School District students not only return to class on Tuesday, January 5*, but back to in-person learning.
Tonight, during our Board of Education meeting it was announced that the Boulder Valley School District will move to remote learning, starting next week.
As you likely have heard by now, Boulder and Broomfield counties have moved to a more restrictive level on the State of Colorado’s COVID-19 Dial. As of today, Friday, November 6, they are both in Safer at Home: Level Orange - High Risk.
This week we welcomed back the last wave of students for in-person learning. It has been great to see students back in our buildings, getting direct support from their teachers, interacting with their friends, and simply being kids again. We are, however, tracking some concerning data when it comes to COVID-19 cases in our community and state.
Tonight, during a special meeting of the Board of Education, we updated our reintroduction plans. All students will now have the opportunity to return to in-person learning before the end of this month
Boulder Valley School District is continuing to move forward, cautiously, with its staggered and differentiated plan to return students to the classroom – beginning next Tuesday, September 29, with the groups listed in the chart below – but working towards including all BVSD students in coming weeks.
Please see this message for updates on the following:
Reminder: No school for students on Monday 9/21
Current health situation
Next steps for grades 3-12
Opting in or out of in-person learning
We want to provide a quick update regarding the Working Advisory Group. They are making excellent progress and, instead of waiting for the update to the Board scheduled in late September, they will be presenting their recommendations on Tuesday evening.
BVSD has updated the time of the food bag distributions. Bags will still be distributed on Mondays, but now from 10:30am-1:30pm.
After reviewing the data we have collected over the past couple weeks, we have decided to start the school year on Wednesday, August 26 in Phase 1 – Home Learning.
