FET: Families & Educators Together
Families and Educators Together (FET)
WHAT IS FET?
FET is a team of educators and family members partnering together to create a more inclusive community to support the well-being of all students and families. FET aims to honor and center parent voices and to strengthen a trusting relationship between educators and underrepresented family members. Your school's team needs your valuable ideas to help all of our children to excel in school and, therefore, to create a stronger community for all. Currently there are FET teams at the following schools: Angevine, Aspen Creek, Boulder High, Broomfield High, Casey, Centaurus, Centennial, Coal Creek, Columbine, Crest View, Eisenhower, Emerald, Fairview, Fireside, Lafayette Elementary, Louisville Elementary, Louisville Middle, Manhattan, Meadowlark, Mesa, Monarch K-8, Monarch High, New Vista, Pioneer, Ryan, Summit, Uni Hill, and Whittier.
Purpose
Some of the major purposes of FET are to build collaborative relationships, honor parent voices and experiences; support the success and well-being of every child; create shared goals for strengthening our school community.
Goal
Our goal as a FET Team is to make cross-cultural connections, learn about diverse perspectives, and find ways to support and celebrate each other, as well as improve our school and Coal Creek community.
WHEN DOES FET MEET AT COAL CREEK?
Our monthly Tuesday meetings are held in-person at Coal Creek from 5:30-7:00. We will have childcare, and each meeting will start with dinner and social time. (Scroll down for all meeting dates.) Interpretation is provided.
Why participate?
Children do their best when parents and teachers are a team. Everyone’s voice is needed and helps us create a stronger school community for all. We want to hear what YOU think would make our school a better, more inviting, more equitable place. You will also make connections with other families, strengthen ties with our staff, and learn more about the inner workings of our school.
